1:1:1 | When a Deadline Finally Made Me Move
Time flies, doesn’t it?
Another Sunday is here, and it’s a little chilly and windy in Brisbane. I hope you’re keeping warm, taking care of yourself, and finding your own little ways to keep going this week.
1 thing I learned
from My start-up journey
This week, I received an email that gave me a bit of a shock.
I was asked to be more specific about my business goals, commit to making revenue within 14 days, and explain exactly how I planned to do it.
Honestly, I felt the pressure. I had been spending time building my personal brand, preparing for a market stall, and figuring out the next steps for AvoActivate. But I hadn't been setting firm deadlines for making sales.
So I stopped just thinking about it and started taking action.
I messaged 12 customers about my avocado drink. I began organising orders, and I made sales.
It made me realise something about myself: I can spend a lot of time preparing because I want to feel ready. But sometimes, I need a deadline to stop me from overthinking and actually do the work.
I'm still learning how to build a profitable business, and I don't know all the answers yet. But this week reminded me that preparation matters only when I turn it into action.
1 question for you
What's one thing you've been preparing for, but need to commit to actually doing?
1 tip for your health & wellbeing
Feeling under the weather? Give yourself permission to slow down. A little rest today can help you feel ready to get back to your routine tomorrow. You don’t have to do everything every day!
