Discipline Beats Motivation, Especially on Ordinary Days

Motivation shows up for the exciting parts. Discipline shows up for the admin, the follow-ups, and the third rewrite.
Motivation is a great starter and a terrible employee. It turns up for launch days and disappears for reconciliations.
Discipline is smaller than people make it sound. It's deciding, in advance, what you'll do on the days you don't feel like it, then shrinking that thing until it's impossible to skip.
Mine is thirty minutes before the day starts. Some mornings that's deep work. Some mornings it's a single email I've been avoiding.
Consistency compounds in a way intensity never does.
